Atlanta Improv Events, Inc provides companies with creative ways to enhance their business initiatives through the art of improv. AIE consist of veteran improvisers and stand-up comedians who perform weekly at Relapse Theatre. As a partner to Relapse Theatre, Atlanta Improv Events draws from the biggest and most diverse talent pool Atlanta has to offer. AIE began in 2009 when long-time Improviser and performer, Kristy Oliver, discovered that an increasing number of companies were interested in using improv at company functions as a way to spice up their usual agendas.

Since its start, AIE has been hired to create a variety of projects, including: leadership training, team building, educational videos, product launches, sales incentive kick-offs and viral video marketing campaigns, to name a few. There is no limit to what we can do...we are improvisers after all. Atlanta Improv Events is going strong in 2010 and ready to help with your next project.

About Us

Kristy Oliver

As an Executive Sales Manager selling services to companies in the Atlanta market for over a decade, Kristy Oliver saw an interest and demand for improv in corporate environments for a variety of initiatives. In simply sharing her passion for improv with clients and corporate contacts, Kristy became aware of a sincere interest in bringing improv into business. As a sales person, improv had already shown its benefits to Kristy in enhancing her ability to build better relationships with clients. All of this insight became a reality in 2009 when Atlanta Improv Events produced their first show for local Atlanta software company, Stratix Corp.

With the launch of new software in 2010, Stratix brought its Engineering and Sales force together for a full day of training on a new product offering. At the end of the day's agenda, AIE brought in some much needed comic relief with a customized improv show just for the Stratix team. By meeting with the Marketing Director prior to delivery, AIE arrived equipped with ways to personalize material based on company insight provided. The goal was to simply enhance company goals and the initiatives of the new product, while entertaining after a long day of learning, and that's exactly was AIE delivered.

Piedmont Heart Institute

Piedmont Heart Institute enlisted the help of Atlanta Improv Events to enhance a full day's agenda focusing on leadership, teamwork and over-all team goals. Attendees included C Suite Executives, PHI Cardiologists and Piedmont Heart Institute Leaders, comprising a group of over 100. AIE collaborated with PHI's Service Excellence Coach, Colleen Thornburgh establishing goals and desired outcomes for the event. Colleen's main objective was to build leader skills in the areas of communication and decision making with limited time and resources as well as bring humor to the day. Improv skits were peppered in after presentations from the PHI team using veteran improv actors performing scenes and games to enhance the message. Teambuilding break-out sessions were facilitated by improv actors focusing on working with limited resources and strengthening relationships. Each team learned how to use improv techniques to solve problems and enhance relationships by acting out scenarios with each other. The PHI event contained improv sets wherever a message could be heightened, to promote everyone working as a team to reach a goal and to inject humor and fun into the leadership retreat. The end result was exactly what the Doctor ordered(pun totally intended).
